Heat Wave

Yesterday we had a record breaking Heat Wave for Chula Vista, at least since we have lived here, our Tahoe Thermometer read 113F while we were out, it was WAYYY TOO HOT To be in the house, (Since most Southern Cali Homes don't have A/C Why I DON"T KNOW?????) so we spent the day driving to and from different places to keep cool...Everyone else had the same idea so EVERYWHERE was Packed...Thankfully we made it thru the day without Heat stroke and prayed desperately last nite that today would be cooler & thankfully it is!!! My brother and sister-in-law and sis Amy are coming to visit today so that should be fun! Gotta take lots of pics as it will be the last get together for us before we move next week.

Play Date

Yesterday my good Friend Paula and Nadia came to visit bringing their adorable babies, Violet (3 months)and Alison(8 months). Violet--Desiree's Twin,--( as they were born the same day an hour apart)--, loved Desiree and they were playing together and do the exact same things, they are both fascinated with their hands and both put everything in their mouths. It was cute to see them together, we finally Got them both together for a "Twin Photo"...Well, more like a few photos as us Mom's got Trigger happy and tried to capture a "Kodak Moment" of the 2 of them, but getting two 3 month olds to both smile and look at the camera is nearly impossible, but I think we did a good job, right Paula and Nadia??? It was great to see you girls, hope we get to see you again before we leave San Diego!!! Here goes the Photo Shoot....

How cute is that, they look like Dolls.

TUMMY TIME!

We had some good friends come over for dinner tonite, Eric and Laura. Laura just came back from a 6-month deployment on the "USS Ronald Reagan", it was great to catch up and good to see them before we all take off to different squadrons. They brought Steak and we grilled some chicken and had a wonderful spread of food and even better company!!! I took some pictures of Laura with the kiddos and one of Eric holding Desiree after MUCH PERSUASION!!! He did great and she loved him! Its sad we are all taking off to different parts of the country but such is military life...at least we have E-mail right? Thanks Laura for the Huge Gift basket from "Ghirardelli" and the Adorable Doll for Desiree...Still need to get a picture of her with it.

Packing/cleaning and so on...

This last week we have been getting everything ready for the Movers to come and pack us up and move us out by the end of the Month as well as doing small repairs on the house/ touch paint/ yard work etc...Its amazing how much you have to do for a move, so much stuff you accumulate over a years time that you gotta get rid of. Thankfully My Mom, and Dad have been here helping us out, they have been a Tremendous help to us! THANKS MOM AND DAD, I don't know what we would do without you! I can't believe July is already here and we are about to move to another City, own a house and Be in a New Squadron with Duane flying a new Plane, lots of changes ahead which makes me a bit nervous, but I am sure we will adjust soon enough! (I hope!!)

Cooling off!

This Saturday was 100F here in Chula Vista, our house does NOT have A/C, why I don't know as it gets very hot for a few months here... so yea, we were frying!!! We decided to head to the pool to cool off! It was Desiree's 1st time swimming, my Mom took her in and she just loved it!!! Trei was enjoying his new floaties and swimming with Daddy and Grandpa in the "Big people" pool! I took some pics of her 1st swim and some others so here goes....

Trei trying to Fill Daddy's shoes...

We pulled out Trei's old bouncer this weekend for Desiree as she loves to sit up and needs some stimulation...She just loved the songs and the lites and that she can see around her better. I took some pics of her and of Trei showing her how it works...

4TH OF JULY!!!!

HAPPY 4Th of July to everyone, hope you had a good relaxing day filled with good company, food and drink!!! HA HA!!! We had a good one, we took the kiddos swimming as it was blazin hot here then came home and BBQ'ed some Steak, Shrimp, and Corn and then took the kids to the park to see the Fireworks. We kept Trei up till 9 hoping to see a great display from the park but realized our back porch had the same view as the park so we came home and got to see some, they were a bit far away so he noticed a few and was excited, but he showed the same interest and excitement about the Moon, stars, and airplanes that were in the sky too...It was a good day and I ate entirely too much food. Thanks Honey for the Yummy BBQ!!! Well here are the pics we took! ENJOY!!!!

BEACH BABE...

SWIMMING!!!

GOOD FOOD!!!

Earrings.

We Took Desiree in to get her ears pierced this last weekend, I was a little nervous but of course wanted to do it...Desiree is a VERY GOOD HAPPY BABY, the ONLY thing she will holler for is food!!! ha ha, anyways when she got her ears pierced she screamed and cried like I never heard her scream before, that was SOOOO hard for me to hear, but thankfully she calmed down after only 5 minutes...I was worried she was gonna be mad the rest of the day but amazingly after the incident she was back to her happy self...Well here is a pic of it!

Ice Cream that will make you break out in a cold sweat...

Check this out....

In a small ice cream parlor along NC 55 in Angier, North Carolina, the hottest, and we really do mean "hottest" flavor is called Cold Sweat.
Sunni Sky's owner, Scott Wilson, has created an ice cream with the milk, sugar and the other usual ingredients, but also includes three kinds of peppers and two kinds of hot sauce: Dave's Insanity Hot Sauce, Blair's Megadeath Hot Sauce, chile peppers, habaneros and Thai chiles. One of the ice cream shop's regular customers was a taste tester. He said it tasted like "fire -- with a side of fire."
Not sure what the draw is to something that is painful going in, and will likely be painful coming out. However, I am guessing that it's refreshing on a very hot summer's day. Ice cream is cool, and sweating (from the peppers and hot sauce), as we know, has a cooling effect as well.
I'd rather turn on the A/C.
