Hurricane a Comin'...

I am sure you have all heard about "Hurricane Katrina" that just swept thru Miami a day or so ago and destoyed alot of homes, buildings and so on...Well they are now saying that it may hit Pensacola, so we may have to evacuate either Tomorrow or Sunday...They said they aren't sure at this point which way the winds are headed but we should know by tonite, so we may be sent packing!!! Please do pray the winds change course and that we don't have to leave as it would cause Duanes school to possibly get delayed not to mention possible severe damage to this area once again...Thanks, we will keep everyone updated!!!

STUNG!!!!!

So today I decided to take Trei to the Pool here on base as it was another HOT and Humid day here in Pensacola, I get there only to discover that as of today they have new pool hours and they are closed Friday, no biggie I decided since we are in our swim attire I may as well go down to the Beach Access on base so Trei can swim and run around for a bit...We get to the beach and the sand is as always White and the water is clear blue and warm so I take Trei in to go swimming...he is enjoying himself as am, although I have to say that I am praying the whole time that we don't get bit by sharks, sure I know, we were only in waist deep and "Techincally" Sharks don't swim in that shallow water, but with all the stories in the papers these days of shark bites in Florida, one never knows....So we are enjoying swimming when all of a sudden I feel something touch my knee and then pull away which was followed by a Strong Stinging pain and my knee just started hurting bad...I looked down to see it was a big jelly-fish so I made a quick dash to shore...My leg was shaking, my knee swoll up a bit and it stung BADDDD, still does...I Decided that was enough of swimming at the beach for me for one day...As in pain as I was at the time (3 hours ago) and am now I am just SO THANKFUL that it wasn't Trei who got stung...He could have as I was holding him in front of me and his body was near my knees...A miracle I tell ya...It left a 4inch red puffy mark on my left knee...All that to say I think I will lay on the beach from now on but will swim in a pool for the rest of the time I am in Pensacola...
Oh yes one last thing the lifeguards saw what happend and said it was odd then they went in the water and said "Whoa there are alot of jelly fish in the water today and they are huge"..so I warned all the parents with kids to stay out of the water!!! Its not worth it!

Nite out at McGuires

Last nite Duane took us to a world famous Irish Pub/Restaurant here in Pensacola called "McGuires", I had heard him talk about it over the last few years and finally got to go there myself. It was great, the atmosphere is fabulous and the restaurant/pub itself has all sort of cool decor' throughout, the ceilings are covered throughout the whole restaurant with $1 bills autographed by anyone and everyone, they also have all sorts of pictures, memorabillia of aviation and Irish History and Humor. Its an awesome place, the Food is great and the portions are huge...I took a few pictures of us there that I am posting here....

Birthday Party

We attended my good friend Jennie's daughters birthday party. Ashlee turned 2 and we celebrated her birthday at Chuck E Cheese last Saturday...Trei had sooo much fun seeing his friend again and his favorite part about Chuck E Cheese was putting coins in the machines, he wasnt too interested in riding the machines as much as putting the tokens in and going from one machine to the next doing that...of course a few other kids caught on and started following him so they could get Free Rides...ha ha. Oh well he had fun and eventually caught on that you put the token in, stay on the ride till it finishes and go to the next one...I am posting a few pictures here of them Riding on the rides...

Pool Time In Palm Springs

Well here are some photos of us enjoying the pool in Palm Springs, it was SOOO HOT there, the 2 weeks we were there it was in the 100's to 114F a few days...Thankfully it was dry heat, but let me tell you we had to be at the pool early before noon or it would just be too much to bear...we would wake up when Trei got up (which is early 6a.m.) have breakfast read some books to him and then we were out at the pool by 9a.m. for a couple of hours...it was alot of fun as one of the resorts we stayed at had a slide for kids which you will see in the photos and the other resort had a Kiddy pool which Trei just loved as it was about 1 feet deep so he was able to crawl and walk around in it and he loved it! Speaking of the heat, one of the days we were there I got Heat exhaustion....I had worked out that morning and then went out to the pool and I Guess I hadn't drunk enough water that morning cause I started getting a headache and I just brushed it off thinking I must be tired of something, but it only got worse and within 15 minutes I called Duane over and said "honey I don't feel good at all I feel faint, nauseous, and have a migraine". Duane took me inside and told me to drink a ton of water, I couldn't bare the thought of drinking water or eating anything as I felt soo sick...I laid down and tried to sleep but my head was killin' me, I couldn't even think, Duane also kept coming in the room and making me drink more water and eat some watermelon which I am sure helped (Thanks for taking care of me Hun)...thankfully after a few hours I felt a little better and it finally hit me that I had heat exhaustion...It was funny cause I had just watched something on the news about it the day before about kids and keeping them hydrated so they don't get heat stroke...but it happend to me...oh well lesson learned...all that to say it was HOT THERE and from now on I drink a TON OF WATER when outside...
