Trei the Builder!

Trei building and Might I add this is a NEW THING for him, he usually likes me to build a nice tower and even before I finish it he comes knocking it over while laughing at the same time. This was the first time HE built a tower and didn't knock it over. Maybe watching "Bob the Builder" is finally paying off??? Posted by Picasa

In Line for Gas

As you all know gas prices soared right after Hurricane Katrina and in many states nearby there was a gas shortage, well Pensacola was one of them, there were only 2 gas stations within 15 miles of base that had gas and as you can see from the photo there were LOOOONNNG LINES to get it...Here you can see we were all waiting to get gas at the Walmart gas station, I waited 2 hours and was worried when I got to the pump there wouldn't be any gas left...thankfully there was.I took this picture after I had waited for an hour so that I could get the gas price and station as well as how ever many cars I could fit in my frame in the camera.... I had to take this picture cause it was unreal, reminded me of the Russian Bread Lines... Posted by Picasa

Trei Flying

One nice thing about Pensacola is that they have an awesome Air Museum on base, since we were staying on base I took Trei there ALOT, they have a kids "Hangar" where he would play for hours since it was too hot to go outside...Here are some pictures of him and Duane playing in the Blue Angels Jet....

Trip to Disney World.

Here are some pictures of us at Disney World a few weeks back, during our "Hurrican Katrina" evacuation we went up to Jacksonville to stay with some Friends and while we were there for a few days we figured we may as well take advantage of being soooo close to Disney world so we went up there for the day and had alot of fun!!! Trei was a bit overwhelmed by it all which is what I expected as at that age they don't know what Disney World is at all...His favorite thing there was riding the Carousel as you will see from the pictures, Duane took Trei on it 4 or 5 times as thats all he wanted to do. On our way out of the park they were having a Parade so we watched that and took some photos of that too...Enjoy!!!

Back in San Diego

So we are finally back home in San Diego, we are all sooo happy about that especially me!!! We moved into our new house in Eastlake last Saturday and this last week we have had the large task of unpacking and setting up, I don't mind it one bit, for me its just nice to have a home again and be in cooler weather!!!Trei loves it as well as its very spacious and he can run/walk/climb thru the house! Eastlake is really a gorgeous area, with beautiful homes, lots of walking/biking trails (Which I love) and alot of parks and good shopping, what more could you ask for??? I will be posting some photos real soon, we just got our internet set up so this is my first chance to post anything in a while...(I am sure you all know), but I promise to do better now that we have a home and internet and all that good stuff!

Back in Pensacola

So we did up evacuating for 4 days, we went up to Jacksonville and stayed with some Friends of ours, Tom and Rebecca (Thank you so much for letting us stay with you! We appreciate you taking us in). We got the notice from base that they would be most likely evacuating the base the following Morning in case the Hurricane came through here so we left the nite before just to make sure we weren't caught in all the traffic and possible storm! We watched the News everyday and its so sad to see all the damage, loss and despair of all those who lost their families, all their belongings and have no where to stay, our prayers go out to each and everyone of them! Its amazing the damage Hurricane Katrina did, I have never been in a Hurricane or this near one, so I was in shock to say the least. Thankfully we weren't affected by it too bad, we had some bad weather, our phones don't work and internet connection is hit or miss but compared to everyone else we are pretty blessed!
We came back to Pensacola Tuesday nite and there wasn't too much damage here, just some bad thunderstorms, wind damage, and fuel shortage but thankfully it didn't touch down here! Duane finishes school next Thursday and we are on our way back to San Diego September 9th!
Just wanted to let you all know that we are safe, thanks for your prayers...
