San Diego visit

Went down to San Diego last week for a short visit, got to see my parents, and most of my brothers and sisters...The kids (cousins) had a blast playing together at Gmas house, then we all headed out to a Buffet for dinner...good food and good company, it was a good trip..here are a few pics I took!

This weekend we traded in our gass guzzler Tahoe and got a 2008 Acadia Fully loaded, yea baby!!!!Whaddaya think of my new ride???

My Weekend project!

This weekend I tackled painting both Trei and Desiree's rooms. Our whole house is painted "Tan" which I prefer to the usual "White walls" most houses are painted with, but I wanted to brighten up the kids' room so I headed to this really good paint store called KM PAINTS and picked up some Nice paint that I can wipe if it gets scuffed up a bit, unlike our current paint that comes right off the wall if you wipe it....Here are the "final results" of the rooms...What do you think Dad????

Welcome back from Albania!

My sister Feli and her family arrived in the States, San Diego to be exact, tonite! They are here to welcome another addition to their lovely little Trio at the end of May, (due date is my birthday, May 26th, whooo hooo!) Welcome back you 3, I am so excited we will actually be able to talk to each other on the phone and chat online without having internet problems..heh! Can't wait to see you all, after you jet-lag of course

The way Weekends should be...

So Duane surprised us this weekend by coming home Friday and staying thru Sunday. He has been gone on a DET for 2 weeks and has 1 week left, so it sure was nice to see him and break it up a bit, it made it feel like a weekend.
Trei was soooooooo excited, his eyes lit up and he started running towards Daddy, meanwhile Desiree grabbed onto him and wouldn't let him leave her sight! We spent the 2 days outside enjoying the warm weather and watching the kids play in their pool, while Duane BBQ'ed and I laid out and got my 1st tan of the year, whooooHooo!!! It was a relaxing, fun weekend, the way a weekend should be!

An accomplishment

Today I walked on an incline of 10(on my treadmill of course), at a speed of 4.3mph for 85minutes, and burned a total of 984 calories. At that point I wanted to make it to 1,000 just to see what it would look like on the speedometer since I have never burned that many but the doorbell rang and it was time for me to babysit a friend of Trei's....guess I will have to see it reach 1,000 another day, but I was close...and now I am tired & want to put my feet up.

Desiree busted my lip open yesterday, she was throwing a 2-year-old tantrum and as I reached for her sippy cup it was slammed in my lip and my tooth went thru my lower lip! It bled for 2 hours, probably should have gone in for stitches but after all my bad experiences with the ER on base, I resorted to applying pressure followed with ice...Its black and blue, good times!!!! Heh!

2 Year appt

Took Desiree in for her 2 year check up and she weighed in at 32lbs and is 37 inches tall!!! Yup she is a tall one, way off the charts for her age the Doc said. Both her and Trei were running all over her office and they were singing, & dancing and talking up a storm telling her about all their toys showing her all their "owies".... yea the small scratches they have. The Doctor confirmed what I already knew, my kids are developing fine and are VERY ACTIVE which is a good thing she says even though I sometimes wish they were more low-key! heh!

Shoe shopping

I have to say when I took trei to get a pair of shoes for summer/getting wet in, I wasn't thinking of getting "Crocs" cause personally I think they look funny/odd and would never wear a pair but everyone I know "swears by them..."but I had also decided that I was going to let him choose his shoes this time, and after having him try on a few pairs of filp flops that didn't stay on well and made him look like he peed his pants when he tried walking in them I had him try on a pair of "crocs". And he loved them, he ran around the store in them and said " Mommy I want these green ones". I have to say I was impressed at how well they stayed on...next was the color issue, I wanted him to get maybe get a dark blue to blend with his clothes better but nope, he wanted bright green his favorite color so I let him buy them..and they are great, he rides his bike in them, runs in the yard with them and today wore them to school!
So, Here are the kids sporting their new shoes. Desiree's are "Skechers", and I love them, wish they had a pair in my size but since they didn't I indulged myself and bought a different kind.heh!

Happy Birthday Princess

Even though we celebrated Desiree's birthday a few weeks ago since Today is her "actual birthday" I wanted her to have a fun and special day! So with Trei in Pre-K we had a girls day out. We went shoe shopping, her favorite thing, and she picked out a pair of new shoes. When she sees shoes she says, "Oh wow shoes". We then went to Starbucks and I got a coffee and she got a Chocolate Chip cookie. The afternoon was then spent with a friend of mine who brought over some ice-cream and a present for Desiree--a box full of dress-up clothes and shoes-- which she then spent the rest of the evening prancing around in.
