Playschool Thanksgiving Feast

We attended Trei's Preschool Thanksgiving Feast this past Monday. They all made vests and necklaces and each kid brought some vegetables to make "Stone Soup". They performed a few songs and we had a potluck afterwords. They were all so cute. I snapped a few pics and took a few video clips to share with those who couldn't attend. Enjoy!!!

School Photos

We just got Trei's school photos back, when I saw this picture it reminded me SO much of a picture of Duane when he was younger. I will have to dig up the ol' pic of Duane that I am talking about and post it as a comparison. I have to say for once I really thot Trei looks alot like Duane. I mean I hear it all the time but I really don't see "him" or "me" perse, I see a combination of the both till I saw this pic and I can see why people really see Duane in him...Yea I am odd I know!

My sister and family dropped in the last day we were down in San Diego so all the kids got to play together for a bit, the boys spent a few hours building legos and the girls played outside in their "play-house". Its been awhile, it was nice too see them!

Our birthday toast to Dean!!!

We boarded Duanes ship for a bit to show the kids where he sleeps and the flight deck, Trei was excited to climb the ladders and see all the jets. It was a gorgeous day in Coronado so it made for a nice visit! Even though we only got to see him for a few days before he had to get back on the ship, it was a nice visit and kinda breaks it up a bit.

So we decided to take Trei to legoland for his birthday, well early birthday, since his birthday is the day after christmas and nothing is ever open. We figured we would have a small celebration for him in advance with Grammy and Buddy & since Duane was in port for 3 days it was the perfect opportunity! He had a blast, I wish we could have gone 2 days in a row cause there is so much to do..I took a ton of pics, check them out.

Well we made it home, it was a long drive with bad weather thru the mountains--rain, fog, and high winds--but we are back home and exhausted! Sure was nice to see Duane though after a few weeks and we enjoyed time with family and had a mini-birthday celebration for Trei by spending the day at Legoland. I took a bunch of pics & after I catch some zzzz's tonite I will be sure to post them!!! Thanks for the prayers for our trip!

Happy Birthday Dean from your cousins

Today in honor of you Dean we all had a mint chocolate chip Ice cream cone and wanted to take a picture to show you!!! We miss you, hope you had a fun 3rd birthday party!!! Love, Trei, Desiree, Evan, Ella, Emmer, & Evie

Headed down to San Diego to see Duane for a few days, whooo hooo! They are pulling into port for a couple of days before they head back out for a few more weeks! trying to make the best of it!

So I took Trei in to see the doc today as a follow up appt. But 5minutes prior to leaving the house Trei comes running up to me in the kitchen with big wide eyes saying "Mommy come, Desiree just swallowed a nail"..I stopped dead in my tracks ran into the room and looked at her and she was sitting there playing happily, not a care in the world, so I ask her " are you okay Desiree?" to which Trei replies, "No Mommy, she swallowed a little nail and its going to go down her throat all the way down to her tummy..." Of course she copies EVERYTHING he says so when I asked her again she repeated word for word what Trei said...After trying to sort the real story I just put them both in the car since we were headed to the doc anyways.
She checked Trei out and said that she doesn't hear wheezing in his lungs anymore, Praise God! But the asthmatic cough lasts for a few weeks and to give him his inhaler as needed and if the cough doesn't go away to follow up with another appt! My prayer is that this is the last of it.
Next question for her, "I think my daughter swallowed a nail, a small nail?" As per her four year old brother..So she then asks Trei what happend and he says "Oh Desiree swallowed a nail, like this..." and he shows her his fingernail...I looked at him and her and said "that wasn't the story earlier..." in any case just to be safe they took an xray and she is okay!!! I think Trei confused it with the day earlier when I had found a small nail on the floor and told them how dangerous it was. So yea, it was a bit intense there for a bit considering she told me that if she had swallowed one she'd be admitted and the surgeon would let us know our options...heh! So thank God it was just a fingernail as disgusting as that is, & not a real nail.
