So far...

Well we made it safely to Fargo, North Dakota, we got in at around 5:30p.m. The day before yesterday and Millie (my Mother-in-law) and Tendai (My sister-in-law) were there to pick us up. We had a good safe flight thankfully and Trei was relatively happy the whole way thanks to our portable DVD Player and our prayers too...Its a lot cooler here then Dallas in fact the last two days have been Pouring rain so we have been indoors the whole time, Trei has gone a bit stir-crazy so this morning I took him out in the halls of the apartment to run around a bit and he climbed 5 flights of stairs a few times, pretty good for a 18 month old..lots of energy I tell ya...Everyone that has met him says "Wow he is a busy little dude" and they aren't kidding!!! He is into everything and is very curious and active!!! It takes ALOT to wear him out...This afternoon we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant with a friend of Millies who is a priest from Nigeria we had a good time and thankfully the Lord answered My very desperate Prayers for the rain to stop for a few hours so we took Trei to the park..He was soooo excited when we drove by it and played for about an hour before it got too cold...so all in all its been a good trip so far, we are headed to see Duanes Grandma in Cando, North Dakota this Sunday and will be there for the 4th of July!!! I'll keep ya all posted and promise to take lots of pictures...

We are headed to North Dakota Tomorrow morning to visit Duanes Family, should be lots of fun!!! We are gonna stay thru the 4th of July...Probably won't get time to post anything so no promises there, but I will when I get home. Happy 4th of July to everyone in advance!!!!

Mr. Potato Head

Gotta love Mr. potato head, he can keep kids busy for hours...Trei just loves playing with him and is pretty good at putting them together as you can see...He says "Eyes", Nose" and "Mouth" very clearly and loves to put the glasses on himself as you well see from the photos...

Double Whammy

Well Yesterday was a looooonnnnnnggg day for us, Trei wasn't feeling well, didn't have a fever anymore but was throwing up alllll day so as you can imagine he was miserable and whiney ALL day long which made me miserable and whiney too, (no not really, just not sure what to do with him)...Nothing and I mean nothing made him happy, poor little dude, to top off his evening he banged his head into the corner of the kids school desk, and got a good size blue shiner on the left side of his forehead...That of course didn't help matters much but then to top it off he goes and bonks the other side of his forehead on the door to the fridge, so now he has two nice Blue bumps on his forehead...Ya gotta love it...When kids get sick they sorta loose their equilibrium or something and can't walk straight and seem to crash into everything...Thankfully today he feels a bit better, I of course don't know that for sure but at least he is acting a bit better! Thank God!!!!

Busy week

Well its been an eventful and busy week, A few of the kiddos here (Trei's Neices and Nephews) have been sick with Colds, fevers and stuff and Trei just got it last nite, I haven't been feeling well either for the last few days but he had a fever of 102F last nite, he wanted to be in arms all nite and didnt' sleep too well, today he was the same and I am hoping it doesnt' spread to his ears, I have been giving him Echinacea, and VitaminC for a few weeks now to get his Immune System healthy and working well but I guess he is just run down...we all are...so yea thats been keeping me busy and away from posting photos and posts to say the least...not a good time for snap shots of us, ha ha! In other news, we are headed to North Dakota to visit Duanes family next Tuesday (the 28th), that is of course if Trei is feeling better, we will be there for the 4th of July and return home the 6th...should be fun I haven't been out there since Duane proposed to me a few years ago, so it will be nice to go back and see everyone, I know they are looking forward to it.
I will make sure to take alot of photos to post here for everyone when we get back...

Congratulations to Mich

Congratulations to my sister Michelle, she got her braces off after 21/2 years to the day of putting them on....Tomorrow nite we are celebrating with her as she is up here in Dallas visiting us, Mich you gotta eat everything you were unable to eat while you had them on...Party, Party girl!!!!

Socked in the Eye...

Today I was getting Trei ready for Breakfast, putting his clothes on, combing the "fro" and all and when I was done I handed him the brush, wrong decision, as he turned around to try to brush my hair and socked me in the eye, well more like the brow bone, it started bleeding and is now a bit swollen...He didn't do it intentionally but wow he socked me good!!! Dont' know my Sons strength I guess. Don't think people will believe me when they ask how it happend...Oh yea my 18month old son did that to me...The last time I am handing him The brush!

FATHERS DAY!

Happy Fathers Day Dad, So glad I can be here with you to celebrate it! I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU for all you have done for me and do for me in my life, you have always been there for me and I may have not told you this often enough but I do appreciate it!!!

And to my Husband Duane, I love you and want to say Happy fathers Day to you too, thanks for being such a wonderful Father to Trei, I couldn't have asked for a better Dad for Trei. I love you and appreciate all you do for us, can't wait for you to come home! Be safe Honey!!!!

New PJ's

I got Trei a New pair of PJ'S today as he out grew his last ones, he wears 2T now, and sometimes 3T, and he is only 18 months...As you will see they are "Bob the Builder" pajamas, reason being he just loves Bob...Which reminds me of a story that happend a few weeks ago when I was looking for a new pair of shoes for Trei, we were at the store and I couldn't seem to find a pair that were the right fit for him and were flexible enough for him to walk in and so on..anyways I was turning to leave when Trei said "Bob" and kept saying it and saying it...I said to him finally, "Trei Bob isn't here,we will watch him when we get home"..He still kept saying Bob and then I looked away and heard him say "UH OH", when I turned back around I noticed a whole rack of "Bob" shoes on the floor, I ended up getting him a pair..guess he was right, Bob was in the store...ha ha!

Good News/Bad News...

So here goes, Duane called last nite to tell me that the "Good news" is that there is a 99.9% chance that they won't get extended again, (This of course is the "Latest" as of today, as you well know things could change by tomorrow so I will keep ya all posted...). And the "Bad News" is that when he does get back he will only be home for 8 days then headed to Pensacola for School for 1 month for his next job "Aviation Safety Officer". I was very disapointed to hear that as usually when they get back from deployment they give them a few weeks off, but the job is something Duane wanted to do and is good for his career and "FIT REP" and all so in that respect I am very happy for him I was just wishing to spend a little more then 8 days with him once he gets back from a 7 month deployment!!! But at least he will be on US Soil, and I will be able to talk to him every day on the phone so that will be nice!

Queen of the BBQ

So tonite my friend Kat and I Grilled for everyone, we did the whole thing, the prep the nite before, marinating the chicken, getting everything we needed for the BBQ etc.... We had been wanting to do this for awhile now, so we finally got the Okay and the time to do it. It turned out great, everyone said the Chicken was Yummy and not "Undercooked" or "Over Cooked" so we are pretty impressed with our "Grilling skills" ha ha, though I have to say that its not an easy task...definently not as easy as it looks... We also had Fruit platters, Avocados, salsa, Caesar Salad, and all the fixin's...It was a fun evening!!! Hats off to Women BBQ'ers...(Though I will be more then happy when Duane gets back and is able to do it again...)

Heating up

Its been relatively warm here the past few months, but this last week has really started to warm up "Texas Style". Today by 9a.m. it was already 90 degrees, wow!!! We try to get to the park or do any of our "Outdoor activities" before noon as after that its too hot to be outside unless of course you are swimming in the pool, and thank God for that!
I am not used to this weather nor is Trei, San Diego never quite heats up enough to go swimming at the beach without a wet-suit on unless of course you are a brave soul and don't mind the cold water..They should have Beaches in Texas we would use them alot more as pretty much in the summer unless you are submerged in Water its intolerable to be outside...
All that to say over the next 2 months you may be seeing alot of pool photos, ha ha!

YES

Trei just started saying the word "YES" 2 days ago, I was pretty excited about it as they say most babies often say the word "NO" first, I wonder why...ha ha, our fault I am sure always telling them "No don't touch this or that" and so on. I am sure in good time the word "No" will be said and repeated over and over and over again, but for now I am happy with the word "Yes".

Shout out!!!

This is a "Shout out" to my wonderful, Hot husband who has lost 35 pounds since being on Deployment. I am so proud of you Honey and admire you for doing it, it takes alot of dedication and perserverance especially with your knees in pain all the time. I can relate a little to having to lose a bit of weight, I finally have lost all my Baby weight and am weighing in at 10 pounds less then before I had Trei..pretty good I think...gotta lose it all before you get pregnant again, at least thats what I always say...
I love you Honey and can't wait to see you again, be safe and come home soon!

Deployment Extension...

So we just heard 3 days ago that Duane's ship is getting extended for another 3 weeks for now...They didn't say why, said they couldn't tell us for various reasons but said that for now the Deployment extension is for 3 weeks. It came as a surprise and disapointment to me, well all of us wives, as we had heard they were pulling out of the Gulf this month. I guess if you put two and two together it should explain why they are getting extended, I know that anything could happen due to the sensitivity of those countries over there but I guess I assumed it wouldn't happen this close to their proposed return home...I have to say that while its only 3 weeks its 3 weeks too long, they have been gone already for 5 months so that puts it at a 7 month deployment..that is unless they get extended again..Please pray that doesn't happen and for the morale of all the Guys on the ship and the families back at home...Thank you!

Long Hair!

Well here is a photo of Trei taking a bath and the reason you only see his hair is cause I originally took it to Show Duane how long his hair is when its wet...he wants me to wait for him to get home before we take him for a trim..He wants to be there for his first Haircut..so I am waiting and waiting...and its growing longer and longer...thankfully he has Curly hair aka "A fro" otherwise it would be outta control...
